The Basics: Clifford Lee is the Mayor of the City of Charlottetown. He was first elected to Charlottetown Council in 1987 and was appointed Deputy Mayor in 2000. He was elected Mayor in 2003 and re-elected three times in 2006, 2010 and 2014. He is not running for re-election in 2018.
Background: Lee has had a long career as a public servant working for the provincial government, including the PEI Liquor Control Commission, Department of Health and Social Services, Provincial Treasury and Holland College.

It is known as the Birthplace of Confederation, recognizing the Charlottetown Conference of 1864 that led to the founding of Canada in 1867.
