Drew Dilkins

The Basics: Drew Dilkens is the Mayor of the City of Windsor. He was first elected to Windsor City Council in 2006 and served for eight years as the councillor for Ward 1. He was elected Mayor in 2014, receiving 55.36% of votes cast. He was re-elected for a second term in 2018.

Background: Before entering politics, he practiced labour and employment law at McTague Law Firm in Windsor. He is a graduate of the University of Windsor, where he earned a Bachelor of Commerce and a law degree. He has an MBA from Wayne State University and a Doctorate of Business Administration from the International School of Management in Paris, France.

Things You (Really) Should Know: Windsor's largest international trading relationship is with Detroit-Warren-Livonia, with more than $870 million in trade flows to that metro area (2012 data). Over 79% of Windsor's goods trade is in advanced industries, in particular, automotive manufacturing.

Fun Fact: Dilkens served for 15 years as a Staff Sergeant in the Windsor Police Auxiliary.
