Heather Jackson

The Basics: Heather Jackson is the Mayor of the City of St. Thomas. She was first elected as Mayor in 2010, defeating the incumbent with 37.7% of the votes cast. Prior to serving as Mayor, Jackson served seven years on St. Thomas City Council. Jackson declared in February 2018 that she would be seeking re-election for a third term as Mayor in the October 2018 election.

Background: Before entering politics, Jackson worked at the Old East Village Business Improvement Area in St. Thomas.

Things You (Really) Should Know: St. Thomas is a community of nearly 40,000 people in Southwestern Ontario. It is served by a Council entirely elected at large, including one mayor and seven aldermen.

Fun Fact: Jackson has been involved with Girl Guides Canada for more than 30 years.
